.: 2010 Wood Tiger

Chinese Horoscope-the zodiac and Ba Tze:

Chinese Astrology presents in different forms. Many of us are familiar with the Chinese animal zodiac with each year representing a different animal within a 12 year cycle – starting with the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and finally the Pig.

In Ba Tze or Four Pillars of Destiny, the zodiac animal horoscope of the year we are born represents just 1/8th of a total horoscope. Ba Tze also considers your day pillar, month pillar and hour of birth pillar to give amazing forecasts. Ba Tze uses the Chinese solar calendar (Hsia calendar) which begins on February the 4th every year and not to be confused with the lunar calendar to which traditional Chinese New Year aligns for 2010 on February 14th.

In combination with the animal zodiac, Ba Tze uses and analyses the balance of universal elements – Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire to forecast and determine events over time. In Ba Tze, each pillar has a universal element that sits on top of the animal providing greater depth and insight to a person’s life journey. This year 2010 year is represented by Yang Metal sitting on top of the Yang Wood Tiger.

Ba Tze Usages:

A qualified practitioner will be able to use Ba Tze for an amazing range of applications. It can be used at a macro level to predict global events and sentiments for the year, and then narrow in on specific industries and organisations that influence the world. It can then be used at a micro level to determine individual experiences within the year or during a person’s life time. Ba Tze is a tool that can be used to profile an environment, situation or person and forecast events. Not only is it a predictive tool, but practitioners should also be able to give practical and logical recommendations for how they can better manage foreseen life experiences, smoothing the journey of life. Ba Tze also compliments a Feng Shui assessment by selecting the right recommendations for rooms, colour and décor for each individual within a home.

2010 – Year of Yang Metal on Yang Wood Tiger:

This year begins on February 4th 2010. Yang Tiger Wood contains hidden elements of Yang Wood, Yang Fire and Yang Earth making this year a little more interesting than last year. Perhaps Tiger Woods and his marital issues have preempted this year!!

Wood Tiger:

The Tiger is a proud and noble animal. It represents one of the animals of movement and will cause a stir this year. Stagnant matters should now receive the momentum to progress forward with a flurry of activity. February is also the month of the Tiger and people cannot help but get caught up in all the activity and excitement.

The Tiger is a fearless creature and represents a year when people will be more optimistic, take greater risk and become braver to challenge the establishment. The yang metal exposing itself on the surface represents military metal, loyalty and masculinity. We see previous years of Metal on the Wood Tiger have displayed government and political activity on the world stage like: the Korean War; prolonging of the Cold War; political groups formed in Japan, South Africa and the US to name a few; and the atomic bomb was created. This year we can expect to see political headlining and leaders trying to display military strength and positioning.

Just as an axe chops wood, the Metal sitting on top of the Wood Tiger represents a clash. While 2009 was reflective and about people and organisations consolidating and forming partnerships, 2010 will see decisions made and then reversed, more tension and challenges than usual with metal attacking the Tiger causing it to rear and show its teeth. This is not a year for the faint hearted but we all need to take a step back and show caution with our decision making and maturity with the battles we want to fight – not just to challenge in order to inflate our egos.

For those that have been sitting back and waiting for action, events will start to unravel and you may find yourself taken in directions that are out of your control. However, if you plan to take initiative and plan to be busy and productive with good intent you can weld your own destiny and 2010 can be a time of needed change to improve many aspects of life. The Metal on Wood Tiger clash can be used for positive events like changing from a stagnant job to find something more suitable, making those long awaited improvements to your home and finding love.

Industry Forecast:

Each element is associated with various industries. To understand which industries will bode well in 2010, we need to look at the elements that represent money, productivity and resources and see if these elements are present in 2010.

Fire Industries:

If you work in investments, airlines, energy, electrical, advertising, entertainment, restaurant (chefs) and finance type industries, then these are considered to be of the fire element. This is a good year for fire industries. Fire industries not only see profits this year but will also have the backing and support behind them which will help them make profits. Overall, there will be more optimism in the markets which will translate into growth from February 4th onward.

Wood Industries:

If you work in textiles, news agencies, publishing, hair dressing, fashion, horticulture, environment management, carpentry and with wooden furniture then these industries are considered to be of the Wood element. 2010 does not see as good a year for Wood industries as last year. This industry could see consolidation and partnerships for the smaller businesses that cannot withstand the attack from metal or pressure that reduced profits will bring next year.

Earth Industries:

The Earth element represents the mining, construction, housing and property, insurance, plastics, natural therapies, Feng Shui, pharmaceuticals, massage and hotel type industries. Earth produces metal which represents productivity and activity for these companies. This year Earth industries can make money from this productivity even though water representing its money is weak. The harder Earth industries work this year the more they can make as their profits will be a direct result from the effort they put in.

Metal Industries:

For the IT & computer, banking, skin care, car manufacturing, welding, teaching and dentist industries which are metal in nature, they see the Wood Tiger as money. But money is sitting on the bottom representing more investments and savings rather than revenue generation. Last year was not great for metal industries – but this year sees greater improvement and optimism.

Water Industries:

If you are in the shipping, transport, communication, pubs and spa retreat sectors, these water industries see wood as skill and creativity. Metal on top supports water industries this year. While fire, representing water industry’s money is still weak this year, Water industries will begin to pick up as we progress through the next 6 year cycle and fire gets stronger. So we can predict that water industries will begin to stabilize after a 6 year period of sluggish growth and start to receive more support.

Individual Forecast:

Ba Tze assessments for individuals require birth data and preferably the hour of birth to understand a person’s profile and events past, present and future. These can be performed by an experienced practitioner. However, we can still make general predictions if a person’s birth year is known.

The year of the Tiger brings particular turbulence to those whose pillars already contain the Snake and Monkey. The Tiger combines with these other animals forming hidden ‘fire type’ dangers to the individual, particularly if they are in an individual phase of obstacles and trials. Illnesses these people are susceptible to include high blood pressure, loss of blood in accidents, heart attacks, eye trouble and other blood related disorders. Accidents related to fire and road are also probable. To minimise the Tiger’s influence with the Snake and Monkey the individual should wear an animal Pig talisman that tries to break up the trio.

People born in the year of the Monkey or have the Monkey in other positions of their pillars are in clash with the Tiger while they are also prone to road accidents (for example road traffic accidents, biking and car accidents, accidents with machinery and so on) and some upheaval in aspects of their life this year, this upheaval could be considered as a fresh start. For examples couples looking to fall pregnant will have better opportunities this year if the Monkey is in their hour pillar. So depending on the position of the Monkey, an individual could experience disruptions or joyous events to their marriage or family and be particularly busy with high activity this year. It would still be advisable to carry a Pig talisman all year and not take undue risks.

Recommendations for those that are more prone to accidents this year are practical – you should obey all traffic laws, wear a helmet when biking, be more diligent when using heavy machinery, cross at the lights, be careful when cooking in the kitchen with open flames and take care using candles. To avoid blood shed an act of charity like donating blood may reduce any future bloodshed through an accident.

People born in the Year of the Tiger or who have the Tiger in other positions of their pillars are said to be offending the Grand Duke. This clash with the year animal will bring more activity, changes in life potentially to jobs, moving house and could also cause accidents. Plan to be busy and take it in your stride if unexpected turns of events create havoc in your life. Plan to take some time out and even take up relaxation exercises that work for you.

Health Forecast:

As mentioned above this year holistically will see greater road accidents and blood shed. For those who are impacted by the Tiger, Snake and Monkey combination it is crucial to keep your liver clean – you could do a liver detox which in turn cleans your blood.

Wood relates to your liver and is an important organ in cleaning your blood. Those that have the Fire combination above can improve their blood and the strength of the blood vessels by consuming more garlic in their diet and taking supplements to boost or reduce fire in their body. To alleviate blood pressure, try relaxation exercises like yoga, meditation and walking. Acupuncture really works to remedy blood pressure as will herbal medicines. Just make sure you look for a reputable practitioner.

From a Feng Shui perspective the Flying Star energy in your bedroom can magnify your health issues or minimize depending on the type of energy and your usage of the room.

Feng Shui Forecast:

On a macro level, there are yearly influences that will impact the living and working spaces you use. It is advisable to have a Flying Star Feng Shui assessment of your home as a base and then overlay the following recommendations for 2010.

  • Obstacles and misfortune are coming from the South West this year. To dissipate this negative energy I recommend placing a 6 rod all metal wind chime in this sector of your home, office or apartment. If it is not practical, then hanging a metal bell on the door handle in this sector should suffice.
  • Sickness is coming from the North East this year. Sickness is controlled by placing a 6 coin strandof i-ching coins in this section of your home, office or apartment
  • Legal issues and scandal are present in the East and South East sectors this year and the traditional Chinese remedy is to place 3 stems of bamboo in a clear vase of water in these sectors. Water and wood exhaust the negative metal energy thereby reducing severity of issues.
  • Anger, frustration and robbery are present in the South this year. This is where you can place red paper, décor or soft furnishings to minimise its influence.

Conclusion:

Ba Tze or Four Pillars of Destiny is intricate and can be analysed down to the hour and minute of every day. Because people are unique, so are their assessments. Broad brush strokes can be made if the year a person is born is known, however, more accurate and timely details are obvious once the month, day and if known hour of birth are provided. Feng Shui practitioners will study Ba Tze to include it as part of their home or office assessments. More poignant recommendations can be made to a business owner for example who is looking to expand his business – not only can recommendations be made on where this individual should perform business related activities and how to optimally set up his or her office for success considering the energy in his office space but Ba Tze can quickly tell if this is the right time for the business owner to expand and take more risky actions.
